Al Qaeda’s operations chief for Pakistan is believed to have been killed in a predator strike. US officials claim Osama Hamud Gharman al Shahri who is known by alias Abu Hafs al Shahri, was killed in recent air-strikes in Pakistan’s troubled tribal areas. Shahri, a Saudi citizen is on Saudi Arabia’s list of 85 most wanted terrorists. Reports suggest he was next in line to take over duties of Al-Qaeda leader Atiyah Abd al Rehman.

Al Qaeda has not issued a martyrdom statement and it is unclear how US officials obtained evidence of his killing.
