The Scotland Yard initiated an investigation on Thursday into the financing and activities of a Kashmiri lobby group based in London. The Justice Foundation is suspected of being backed by Pakistan’s ISI. The announcement comes just one day after Ghulam Nabi Fai, the director of Washington-based Kashmiri American Council, was detained by the FBI. Pakistan has accused the US of a slander campaign against Islamabad. A statement issued by the Foreign Office rejected the allegations of ISI’s links with Fai, calling the development an effort to “defame the just cause of the Kashmiri people.”
