Afghan Peace Delegation to Visit India

A high-level Afghan peace delegation, headed by ex-president Burhanuddin Rabbani, is scheduled to arrive in India on July 14th for a two-day visit, said India’s External Affairs Ministry on Wednesday. The delegation of the High Peace Council of Afghanistan, headed by Rabbani, who is the council’s chairman, will visit on the invitation of Indian External Minister S M Krishna. The council was formed by Afghan President Karzai in Sep 2010 to promote peace negotiations with the Taliban in the war-ravaged country.
