Political analysts warned on Thursday, US military presence in Afghanistan could perpetuate the war. At a day-long seminar at the Mahr Media Centre in Kabul, various political theorists discussed the impact of continuing US presence in the region. Wahid Muzhda, one of the participants, said Afghanistan’s neighbors would not tolerate the Western powers interference much longer. Chairman of the centre, Hussaini Madani further alleged the United States had done nothing to stabilize the war torn nation. Experts also argued the cooperation agreement signed between the US and Afghan officials which allows for US bases to be set up in the country, will increase instability in the region.
