A missile strike thought to have been launched by a US drone aircraft hit a car on Thursday in southern Yemen, killing two people believed to be Al-Qaeda fighters, according to tribal and security officials. The Defense Ministry has confirmed the killings in the province of Shabwa, but didn’t provide any further details. Yemen had banned US drone attacks in September, but they are said to have recommenced after militants tried to smuggle explosive devices on cargo airplanes bound for the US in October.
