Plans for PTI Protest Rally Finalized

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has finalized plans for its protest rally (April 23rd to 24th) against US drone attacks and NATO convoys passing through Pakistan. The northwestern city of Peshawar has been adorned with posters and banners carrying large photographs of party leader Imran Khan. On Thursday, a car rally was organized by party workers to mobilize public in favor of the rally. Several political parties have announced their support for the move including Jamaat-e-Islami, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F), Muslim League (Q), Pakistan Tehreek-e-Istiqlal and Pakistan People’s Party-Sherpao. Meanwhile, the leader of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), Altaf Hussain called for a round table conference, of a broad spectrum of political and religious parties, to discuss US drone attacks in Pakistan.
