Shia pilgrims were killed on Tuesday when eight to ten gunmen opened fire on a bus in Pakistan’s province of Balochistan. Two vehicles intercepted a bus carrying more than 50 pilgrims to Iran, near the town of Mastung.

The driver of the Bus told reporters the passengers were forced off the vehicle and fired upon, the driver. Three more people were killed later as assailants opened fire on an ambulance heading to the attack site to help the injured.

This is the latest in a series of attacks by Sunni militants against Shia’s in the region. Media reports indicate Lashkar-e- Jhangvi (LeJ) has accepted responsibility for the attack.
