Context
A car bomb was detonated outside a mosque in the city of Quetta killing ten people on Wednesday. The explosion occurred right after morning prayers on Eid-ul-Fitr, an Islamic religious festival observed in the Muslim country at the end of the month of Ramadan. The car packed with explosives attempted to enter the mosque. Police intercepted to stop the vehicle at which point the suicide bomber detonated the bomb in the parking lot.
No group has so far claimed responsibility for the bombings. However, like rest of the country, such events are often found linked to separatist insurgency, sectarian clashes or Taliban militants.
