Turkey will take tough measures against militants after the end of Ramadan, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced on Sunday. Speaking at a ceremony to mark the 10th anniversary of the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP), Erdogan said, “If we show patience, it is because of the holy month of Ramadan.” The prime minister also added that the policy would change drastically after the end of the religious month. The banned Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) has stepped up attacks against armed forces in recent weeks after its unilateral ceasefire ended in mid-July following the general elections on June 12th.
