China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) and Gazprom will continue talks regarding a major gas supply agreement on Tuesday, Russia’s energy giant said Monday following a second consecutive day of discussions in Moscow. A legally binding deal on the main terms of supply was signed in Sep 2010 during Russian President Dmitry Medvedev’s visit to Beijing and now there is pressure for the finalized agreement on pricing to be signed in time for China’s President Hu Jintao’s arrival for the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum this week.
