China Vows to Foster Stability in North Africa, West Asia as Saudi Officials Visit

China vowed on Monday to foster stability and peace in North Africa and West Asia as a Saudi Arabian delegation visited the country. “China will work with the international community including Saudi Arabia to promote peace, stability and development in the region,” vowed China’s Premier Wen Jiabao during talks with the delegation headed by Abdullah Bin Mohammed Bin Ibrahim Al-Sheikh, Speaker of the Majlis Ash-Shura Council of Saudi Arabia. Abdullah said that Saudi Arabia appreciated China’s fair stance with regard to regional and international affairs. Premier Jiabao called on both sides to maintain close high-level contacts and enhance coordination in international mechanisms and organizations such as the G20 and UN.
