The Israel has extended its support to Kenya to help the country deal with Somali militants. Israeli President Shimon Peres said his country would “make everything available” to the African nation to help it fight against the Al-Qaeda linked terrorists.

Kenyan Prime Minister, Raila Odinga who was on a visit to Jerusalem, also said that more advanced security measures were needed to combat terrorism in the country. “Israel can help Kenya police to build the capacity to be able to detect militants, know what kinds of arms they have and pre-empt and destroy the networks that recruit youths and kill inside the country,” Odinga said.

Analysts however warn the new partnership could increase support for the terrorist group al-Shabaab, which would attempt to gain support by showcasing the deal as anti-Muslim.
