Brig. Gen. Masoud Jazayeri, deputy head of Iran’s Security Forces Joint Chiefs of Staff, announced Tehran’s plans to set up its first cyber command for security forces in order to respond to soft warfare against the country. Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Jazayeri said comprehensive studies had already been conducted on the cyber command and the results would soon be submitted to the country’s security forces. He further said that the Islamic Republic should be equipped with modern technology and tools when it comes to soft warfare. In Dec. 2010, Iran’s senior army commander, Brig. Gen. Muhammad Baqeri, had warned of the soft war being waged against Tehran, saying enemies have started targeting the self-confidence of the Iranians.
