The lower house of Afghan Parliament on Monday urged the administration of President Hamid Karzai to cut diplomatic relations with Pakistan over ongoing cross-border assaults in eastern provinces, and vowed unwavering support in case the government decides to take any retaliatory action. Afghan Border Police claims that artillery shells, missiles and rockets fired by Pakistani forces into eastern Nangarhar and Kunar provinces have killed around 50 civilians and injured dozens other over the last two months. According to the Afghan government, it has brought up the matter with officials in Islamabad, but the incursions still continue to happen.
