The prime minister received a standing ovation from both the sides as he said, “In Judea and Samaria, the Jewish people are not foreign occupiers. This is the land of our forefathers.” However, he acknowledged that Israel “will have to give up parts of ancestral Jewish homeland for a genuine peace.” Netanyahu also expressed his willingness to work with Obama for peace despite the differences between the two.

Ground Forces Commander-in-Chief Colonel General Alexander Postnikov met Pakistani Army Chief Gen. Ashfaque Pervez Kiyani at the GHQ in Rawalpindi on Tuesday. He also held a separate meeting with Gen. Khalid Shameem Wynne, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Sources said that the discussions focused on issues of professional interest including the endgame in Afghanistan and how Moscow and Islamabad can help restore peace in that war-ravaged country. The visit comes at a time when US-Pakistan ties are severely strained following Bin Laden’s death.
